Several people believe that redecorating a bathroom includes buying a new window treatment (blinds or a roman shade), a designer curtain for the shower and a maybe a soft bath rug. There are various ways of personalizing your bathroom and keeping it your style. When getting started you need to look at your needs in the bathroom and the first thing that needs to be addressed is the bathroom vanity and the type of mirror you are looking for.

When you think of a bathroom vanity, you would not figure it would make that much of a difference but it does. Before you step foot into your bathroom, you can see the toilet and the tub but when you step into the bathroom you pay attention to the mirror above the vanity. The mirror is placed at eyelevel so that your guest can admire their appearance while cleansing their hands.

When purchasing a bathroom vanity, make sure that you are proud to display it in any other room in the house. When there is a good chance that your guests are going to use your bathroom when they visit, you need to make sure that your bathroom is inviting and comfortable. So give each room the personal touches that you want your guests to admire and show your guests who you really are, but keep in mind that the most important room in the house is your bathroom.

When decorating your bathroom you need to take the first step, coming up with a theme. You need to make sure that the theme is inviting. The best way to bring a certain theme in is purchasing the appropriate bathroom vanity. When using earth tones, it brings warmth into a room full of bright white porcelain furniture. When using stone for the vanity counter, earth tones match very well. This type of stone can also be found in tiles that would go nice on the floor to carry out the theme.

The trim of your bathroom vanity does not have to be oak it can be other types of wood also. It can be matched with the frame of your vanity mirror. To add an extra flare, there are mirrors that have a trace of gold on the edge of the glass.

To enhance the warmth in the bathroom, you can purchase some wooden towel racks that are the same shade of stain as the bathroom vanity. The towel rack needs to be placed on the left or right side of the mirror. You need to look at how much room you have on your bathroom wall for the towel rack before choosing a size. The various hues of red or green look amazing with any type of wood. By placing a potpourri holder on the opposite side of the mirror can add a pleasant scent throughout the bathroom.

When you are designing your bathroom you need to look at how much room is available and the appropriate size of bathroom vanity you need. You also don’t want it too crowded so use accessories sparingly. The whole idea about theme is not just to bring out the wood around the mirror but also on the vanity.
