When planning an event, one of the first things that people often do is plan the décor. They pick the color scheme, envision the look, pick table cloths, create centerpieces…the list seems to go on and on, but no matter what kind of event is being planned, there is always one consistency: the need for candles. Candles offer so many different things— subtle light, a romantic tone, a beautiful accent and are an easy addition to your decoration, but have you ever considered using flameless candles instead of regular candles in your arrangements and centerpieces? Whether or not you have considered this idea, here is why you should.

The first reason why you should consider using flameless candles is fairly obvious—flameless candles are much safer than a lit candle. A lit candle can be an accident waiting to happen especially in a party setting. Consider the situation: You have designed your centerpieces with candles uniquely placed around the edges or even in the middle of your flower arrangements. When the candle is lit, there are so many things to catch fire from the candle: the arrangement itself, a napkin on the table, an item of clothing as a guest reaches across the table, a child who reaches toward the candle. These occurrences are definitely not guaranteed to happen and they don’t happen very often, but when it does, your event is interrupted and in some cases the results are catastrophic. Flameless candles are much safer than regular candles because they do not have a flame. There is no open flame and no chance of any accidents occurring at your event. Flameless candles come in every shape and size. You can use them in centerpieces, candelabras, as tea light candles, etc, and they look extremely realistic. You cannot see the light bulb in the candle and some flameless candles even have a flickering mechanism to make it look like the flame is bouncing just like a real candle. If you want peace of mind that your candles are safe, flameless candles are an excellent option.

Another reason you should consider using a flameless candle is because they are everlasting. Candles can be really expensive depending on what size you buy and where you buy them from, but flameless candles will never burn down. The only thing that you will have to do to your flameless candles is change the batteries. A small, flameless tea light candle will stay lit for over one hundred and twenty hours whereas a regular tea light candle will only stay lit for at best four to five hours. If you are planning an event longer than five hours, having regular tea light candles will pose a big problem. A common problem with regular candles is that it can take forever to get all of your candles lit because some candles are hard to light. Another problem with regular candles is that during the event candles often get accidently blown out and someone has to be in charge of keeping all the candles lit throughout the event. You never have to worry about trying to get a flameless candle lit or keeping it lit; after you turn the switch on, the candle doesn’t go out.

Another benefit to using flameless candles is that once you buy them, you have candles forever! After your event is over, you have candles that you can keep to use at other events or to use as decoration in your home. The benefits to using flameless candles are overwhelming, so next time you are deciding how to decorate for an event, consider using a flameless candle.
