One way to welcome the upcoming baby is to plan a baby shower party. This is the occasion where there is a celebration for the coming child and the expectant mom. This party can be either throw before the birth of the child or after the newborn comes into the world. The birth of the new member of the family is one of the happiest moment for the family, therefore that little bambino deserves a warm welcome from everyone.

Once it was confirmed, the first thing that will come into the family's mind is to throw a welcome party for the upcoming baby. Traditionally, shower parties are thrown for the soon-to-be moms and generally hosted by a friend, family member or co-worker. These parties are thrown to complete the excitement, and lots of gifts are awaited both for the mother and for the baby. However, these shower parties requires an extreme decision making during the preparation, from deciding what theme to apply, what food to serve, what decorations are needed to what shower favors to give out.

There are no set strict rules when planning a baby shower party. The hostess can be as flexible and creative as she want, however, she should confirm it first with the mom-to-be. Typically, the perfect time to throw a shower party for the upcoming little one should be around two to three months before the delivery date of the mother. Often, these parties are conducted during weekdays either in the afternoon tea or luncheon as most of the people are working and can find time only in the evening.

These parties, however, should be carefully planned and organized to give pleasure and satisfaction not only for the new family, but also for everyone who's presence is indeed valuable. The plan should start accordingly. Upon decisioning the shower date and time, next to be decided is the theme you should use to make a party atmosphere. It is always a perfect idea to decide a theme that can help make the party more memorable, that those sweet memories linger in everybody's mind and soul for years.

Once the decision for the theme is done, it will further help in decisioning the location, the number of guests to be invited and the thematic decorations needed for the entire occasion. Of course, you want to ask the parents-to-be for their suggestions, who are those people they would love to see in the party? Will they be comfortable of having a crowd at the party? Also, you don't want to forget the availability of the budget. Too many guests means a huge expenditure. The budget, the number of guests, the time of the shower and the theme will tell what food to serve.

To make the party more fun and exciting, of course you should plan several games to play. The games may include baby food games or naming the baby games. This way the party will last for couple of hours with so much fun and laughter.

Lastly, shower gifts and shower favors are also needed for these parties. One major purpose of the baby shower is to shower the mom and her baby with lots of gifts they will need in their new lives. Ideal baby gifts the guests may give are baby clothing, feeding supplies, bathing supplies, baby carrier, baby travel gear and the like. You may also include few surprises for the parents-to-be.
