Surprisingly, Tokyo women are very keen on their nails. The average women’s nails are simple and slightly longer than usual but it could get expressive with women having large items glued on their nails.

However the extremities are certainly extreme. Large jewels, flowers, even feathers are glued on the nails. There is a lot of bright pink and a lot of extravagant designs painted. Even better, their cell phones may sometimes be decorated the same way the nails are.

It is a given that beauty is really taken very seriously in Tokyo with both men and women spending lots of time and money to achieve it. A beautiful person is perceived to be friendlier and kinder and that of course, beauty is an integral step in achieving happiness.
