For divergent flooring in a number of contemporary offices and houses, the ideal type of flooring material is bamboo. Bamboo is not planted as a seed but it crops up in the form of a shoot. Most cropping up of these shoots or rather sprouting normally takes place during spring. The plant sends up its shoot during this season allowing itself to restore itself to maturity. All bamboo species grow to attain full height during spring. The giant bamboo that is normally harvested for flooring normally attains the optimum height of 100 feet and the tree grows at a rate estimated to be four feet for every single day.

After bamboo trees attain their maximum height, they are then harvested. The bamboo trees are then thinned after every four years to enhance the growth and health of their stock. The harvested timber can therefore be used as a flooring timber.

Harvested bamboo trees are always cut into boards intended to be used for flooring. The boards are pre-finished on the double sides using a high technology UV varnish that is resistant. This would therefore mean that there is no painting, sanding or filling, which is a big benefit when installing; painting is not done because of its perfect finish. Again, there are very little toxic fumes and dust experienced during the entire process. The boards are then dried up for a short time since most of the drying had been done using the machine.

For the stability of bamboo flooring, the boards of woods are laminated into three layers. Unlike floor boards made of hardwoods, every bamboo piece of wood is perfectly milled to achieve an ideal glossy surface. It is also done to ensure that the boards are consistent and straight. Cupping and warping is not experienced as a result of stress caused by the grains stress that makes installation easier.

The wooden planks are then cut at a length of 36 inches long and 3.5 inches wide. This is done to bring in ease of the installation process. After this, every plank of wood is groove-and-tongued on the opposite sides hence ensuring a tight and lasting installation.

Versatility of the bamboo wood is striking in that there are a number of natural designs that are seen on the finished plank of wood. This adds to the aesthetics of the flooring surface.
