• Simplify the room decoration. This is another distinct characteristic of modern design. It does not need too much stuff in the room to achieve the look. If the room you want to redecorate has a lot of items in it, reduce the clutter. If it is not useful in the room, remove it. Once you are done, organize the room, and incorporate the first two tips.

• Add accessories that are high contrasting with your current interior. Most homeowners are afraid of adding bold colors in a room. What usually happens is that when they painted the wall brown, the rest of furniture has to have the shades of brown as well. This can be very boring. However, you can also turn it around easily. If your room has one color with different shades, you can pick a color that is in complete contrast of the color you have. You can use the color wheel for this. Look for your color in the wheel. Opposite to it is its color contrast.

• You can add furniture with modern look. Aside from the modern wall art, you can also add furniture, which have modern inspiration. You can add a chair for more sitting, a side table, or replace your traditional coffee table.

When trying to achieve a modern look, you do not have to change everything. You can choose the current items you have and add some modern artwork or accessories. You can make few purchases though, but you do not have to replace everything in the room.
