Stress is a feeling that is created when we react to particular events that greatly affects us physically, mentally and emotionally. It is our body’s way of meeting a challenge and prepares us to rise to tough circumstances with strength, stamina and heightened alertness. We often associate stress with negative elements in our lives especially when we are working too hard or thinking too much of problems coming our way.

It is plain and simple that stress on the body can be tremendously detrimental especially on an individual’s health. When a muscle in the body is stressed, blood circulation is reduced and the there is a decrease of pumping of oxygen and distribution of nutrients.

Stress can greatly affect our minds, bodies, emotions and of course, our behavior. Some of the physical signs of stress will usually include backaches, insomnia, headaches and increased heart rate. If you have problems in focusing, memory and anxiety then you are definitely experiencing stress. These signs are considered as mental stress. On the other hand, depression, hot tempers and moodiness are early warning signs of emotional stress. Behaviors such as grinding of teeth, walking back and forth all lead to stress.

There are numerous ways in which we can deal with stress but one of the most popular and efficient ways is through a massage which utilizes the use of massage stones. It is an amazing way of loosening up tight muscles and releasing muscle spasms in the body. The hot stones will also improve the body’s blood circulation allowing the oxygen to pump more oxygen into the vital organs and other tissues. Drinking plenty of water before and after the stone therapy is also essential to help in flushing out the toxins in the body that the massage was able to release.

A massage will activate the nerve-endings in our body and endorphins are released. Endorphins are considered as natural pain killers of the body and as there is an increase release of endorphins, pain is alleviated. It also helps in eliminating the amount of chemicals in our body that produces stress. As a result, some of the effects of stress are reduced or reversed. The heart rate is slowed and blood pressure is decreased.

The pressure placed on the tissues during the stone therapy session depends on the client. It may either be soft, medium or deeper pressure. The firmer the pressure is applied to the tissues, the more of your body’s flexibility and mobility will improve. In this process, the body receives more oxygen and nutrients. The lymphatic system will also improve increasing your resistance to infection.

Nowadays, modern society has caused every person’s life to be more hectic and more stressful each and every single day. It will greatly help an individual if he is able to reduce or possibly eliminate all the stress in his life. The use of a massage therapy utilizing massage stones will certainly boost a healthier and happier life.
