You know the line, the procrastinator’s mantra. “I’ll do it tomorrow” which becomes tomorrow which becomes tomorrow, which becomes never. This is the completely wrong attitude to have towards credit repair. You know why? Here it is plain and simple if you don’t start at some point your life is going to be miserable and you will only sink deeper into quicksand.

You know the funny freecreditreport.com commercials that will be your life. If that got your attention, it should, because credit repair is not a gentle topic. It would be nice if it really was easy and non-consequential to avoid and place behind you as one of those things on your to-do list you never got to, but in less you plan on becoming a celebrity with enough cash flow to completely be set for life without loans or debts, you need to start now.

Why? Because credit repair is not an easy process, and it’s not going to simply occur overnight. You cannot say that you are going to move from a fair rating up to a good rating and be set within a year. Unfortunately for you, the time table it takes to complete repairing your credit is not completely in your control. There are however many starting steps you can take that are completely in control.

If you are not yet married, or settled into a full time solid career, no doubt the line you will be. The big job, the one you have been working towards most of your college career is in Washington DC, and you are not. So you need to move. Easy enough right? Wrong.

Every city and every reasonable location within the city that is not located in one of the unsafe or poorer districts is going to run a credit check on you when they take your leasing application, and guess what happens, you are going to fail because you did not take credit repair seriously. Now the job opening is not going to wait for your credit score to improve, so you have two options, you are going to have to choose a low grade neighborhood to live in for awhile, or miss the job. Ouch.

This is just one of the many things that can happen to you if procrastinate or devalue the need for credit repair. There are millions of other situations that are going to open up for you as time passes, and none of them have great endings. This is not the way you want your future to be mapped out for you, and it’s a future you have the control over. So if you are smart, you will start repairing your credit today.
