You might think it’s not necessary to create an ebook library on your computer to keep track of all the ebooks you purchase and download. And you’re right—it’s not necessary. But it’s handy, satisfying, and fun, so there’s no reason why shouldn’t do it. For years bookworms and "academic" types have both been portrayed on television and in movies as people with shelves stuffed with books, books on every table and flat surface, even on the couches, chairs and floor. True book fanatics know that the image might not be that far from the truth.

Some book lovers might have hundreds of books and not many places to put them, so it can all look a bit sloppy and disorganized. But chances are, that book lover is a list maker. You can add whatever labels you want and sort your treasures in whatever way you see fit.

If you’re not fond of ebooks, you still must realize the convenience of them. For less than the cost of a paperback you can download tons of information or fiction and store it on your computer. One look at your full bookshelves makes it clear how wonderful that can be. You could have an ebook library the equivalent of a major city library right in your hard drive.

So whether or not you’ve gotten behind the digital books movement, it’s something we’ll probably all have to adjust to eventually. And you know you want to treat yourself with fun and quick book inventory software. So you might as well choose a program that lets you make an ebook library. Just like your printed library keeps growing, your digital library is bound to expand, too.
