There seems to be a high statistic of people getting divorced now and with financial pressure and that ever ticking biological clock, it’s not surprising our marriages fail. I believe we should love each other endlessly and be forever forgiving and when we marry it should be for life, but for some reason, ‘life’ gets in the way. Including disagreements over the children and how they should be brought up.

Hasn’t it been said that it is better to have loved and lost? And for once I agree, we get married for a reason and we certainly get divorced for a reason. But while we spend so much time trying to better things for ourselves and our families we often forget the ones we love are sometimes fading into the background.

Remember your marriage is for life and things are never as bad as they may seem and sometimes all that’s needed is a little more communication between you, what may start out uncomfortable could actually make you a solid part of a great team forever!

So how long does it take for us to realize our marriage is over? Probably at the last moment just as the other person walks out or says they’ve had enough, does it really hit home that it’s finished, and then is it too late to sort things out?

Maybe losing a marriage and gaining a friend would make us happy eventually, after all no marriage no pressure right? In today’s society are we under too much pressure to be successful and have a loving family indoors while bringing in enough money to keep us afloat and the children in up to date clothes and going on all school trips to stop them being bullied? Without marriage can we still have that security that someone will always be there for us when times are hard, or is marriage now something trendy for a ‘good day out?’Many of my divorced friends have said it was just something to do, and now their marriage has failed and they are still paying for it.

Marriages break up for many reasons to which we may or may not be at fault for, but I believe we should work on our marriage after all we must have loved each other once, right?

I am a little old fashioned and personally believe marriage is forever and is something that gets better as time goes on and there seems to be plenty of help out there should you need it or just want ideas to spice things up at home and stop ‘life’ getting in the way. We can keep our marriage alive with the love and strong bond we had originally. Sometimes we could all do with a little reminder of how fantastic our other halves really are and the real reason we first fell in love before all the complications and joint debt and badly behaved children!
