As humans we keep pets in our home because they evoke affection or curiosity and often are given a special status as companions for members of the family. Pet owners can contact veterinarians, ecological organizations, and universities for opinions about whether local conditions are suitable for outdoor cat’s .It is best that we try to keep your cat indoors. Additional concerns include potential dangers from larger predators and infectious diseases.

Kittens have a way of turning the most innocuous situation in our home into a full blown disaster. Whether you survive with your sanity intact and whether your kitten survives, at all depend on how we deal with it and how we go about kitten-proofing your home. Kittens are very entertaining as well as playful, and young cats are always curious and open for a challenge. Kittens on the other hand have a very high energy, but you can be thankful that they also have short attention spans. That’s part of what makes them the adorable assets they are, but they are babies, and as such they are not capable of the deep relationships. However, when you have an older cat they aren’t as easily excitable and they are usually laid back and much prefers to watch the antics, in the home from a distance.

When you get a new cat no matter how young or old start by placing the cat in one room and allow it to become familiar with the house gradually. By giving the cat its own room, it will start to feel safer in its new home. When the cat does feel threatened or scared when it is exposed to the rest of the house, it will automatically go into ‘its’ room to relax. Then in time the cat will understand that it is safe to venture in to the rest of the kingdom so to speak.

Feral cats are cats that were born and raised outside world. They are strays that have been out long enough to have lost their domestic, tamed temperament. Adult feral cats are generally too wild to be socialized and adopted out; kittens may be tamed if they are less than 8-10 weeks old. Feral cats and kittens generally would not make greatest pets for children, there temper and disposition is not of the friendly nature. Having on of these cats in your home a quick motion or sound may cause the cat to strike out, this could be dangerous and will definitely cause harm to someone in the family.

Dogs and cats don’t have a sense of right or wrong. Cats do not feel “guilty" when they have done something "wrong" that is in there nature, that’s what make a cat what they are. Dogs on the other hand are man's best friend and strive to please their owners; but cats on the other hand aren’t sure even if they really like us! So it makes you wonder why we should like them. When cat and kittens are abandoned and left to roam free or they are given to animal shelters at much higher rates than dogs. More young cats lose their lives to behavior problems than to illness.
