The Winter is upon us and there may not be a more charming area of the country this time of year than Pigeon Forge Tennessee. If you happen to be making your way to Pigeon Forge here are five suggestions of some places and things you really might find of interest and fun. A lot of the suggestions are family friendly.

1. Smoky Mountain Winterfest

Starting in late fall, the usually tourist-packed cities of the Smoky Mountains-Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, etc.-come together for a "Happy Holidays" creative...outlet. From all of your favorite Smoky Mountain attractions, Ripley, Dolly, and more come together to toss up more colorful, flashing Christmas lights than you can imagine.

2. Christmas Place and The Inn at Christmas Place

There's hardly an off-season for one of the most popular shops in the Pigeon Forge area, Christmas Place. You can find one-of-a-kind ornaments, décor, and trees here any day of the year. The shop boasts nearly four dozen designer trees, and you can bet they have someone put a new twist on even the basic Christmas light. Part of the happiest holiday location is the familiy-owned Inn that decorates for Christmas (surprise) year-round. In the winter, cozy up next to a fireplace or in the Jacuzzi in your room.

3. Flyaway Indoor Skydiving

Okay, you've always wanted to go skydiving, but maybe your loved one isn't quite as on-board. After only half an hour of training and equipment preparation, you will strap in and literally be flying in one place on top of high-quality wind tunnel. Think of it as a great way to get wind in your face without the risk of breaking bones.

4. Hilton's Bed and Breakfast

If you're going to winter in the Smoky Mountains, you know how to appreciate a warm cup of cocoa and roaring fireplace. Enjoy these things and fine Southern hospitality located near the best attractions of Pigeon Forge. Each of the dozen rooms is especially decorated for whatever kind of vacation you are looking to enjoy. From the Wild Rose room with a heart-shaped Jacuzzi and kind bed to Peach Mimosa, you will find a romantic haven for your honeymoon or anniversary celebration.

5. Tangier Outlets and Spin City Roller Rink

You want out of your hotel room, but it is certainly too cold to stay anywhere without heating for too long! Browse in and out of great outlet shops for excellent brand-names at a reduced rate. If you're willing to brave the Smokies in the winter, may we suggest getting even hotter deals on Black Friday? Just across the street you can unwind further with the family at the Spin City Roller Rink for roller-skating, a video arcade, and classic concession stand.

Pigeon Forge is a city and an area both steeped in history but heading full tilt into the future. Pigeon Forge grows every day as a destination resort. The five options above are only a few of the great things to do and attractions to see when visiting.
