There is not to many things that are as satisfying as being able to make some extra income with your computer at home. Whether it is to pay off some bills or just to have some extra spending cash, Internet Marketing skills can really come in handy.

I had heard about making money online a couple of years ago and toyed with the idea for some time before getting serious about it. You heard the saying "necessity is the mother of invention", that really applied to me since the cost of living has been going up excessively with the gas crunch and my income is was heading in the other direction.

Like many, I spent quite a bit of money on e-books and other "turn key systems" and still had nothing to show for it. I then ran across two affiliate marketing courses that seemed interesting. One was a one time membership fee of $97 and the other was becoming a Wealthy Affiliate Member at a monthly fee.

Well by this time I was so skeptical that I opted for the course with the one time fee. The course was OK but some of the information was already outdated. For three months I avoided the inevitable of becoming a Wealthy Affiliate Member. I finally joined and was astounded with the wealth of information and all the free tools available to the Wealthy Affiliate Member.

I dived right into the"8 Week Action Plan" and studied all the tutorials in the "Learning Center". Being a Wealthy Affiliate Member is awesome. I have learned so much and am still honing my skills as an affiliate marketer with instruction there after one year. Updates and new additions come often so learning is an ongoing process.

Things that were either intimidating or I just didn't have a clue about are now easy for me to accomplish. I can build a website and even know the necessary html commands. I have learned skills necessary to run an Adwords campaign. I have learned the importance of keyword research and its application not only to PPC but also to article marketing. I have learned how to leverage my articles to gain the most back links. I can even get my articles on the first page in the search engines!

One of the biggest pluses for being a Wealthy Affiliate Member is the in-house Forum. Since there are over 14000 members a lot of tips and techniques are revealed in the Forum. Any question or problem you might have can be answered in no time if you post it in the Forum. All threads in the Forum have been saved and can be searched to find any information. A very powerful tool in itself.
