Self Storage

If you've ever been to Florida, you know that it is one of the greatest summer states in the country. Many people vacation in Florida annual to enjoy great golfing, water sports and a host of amusement and theme parks that are a pleasure to experience. Florida is also home to many orange orchards which provide the majority of oranges to manufacturers and retailers around the world. Florida has a wealth of time shared condos for those who want to own property in the state but only live there on occasion.

When you think of Florida, storage may not be the first thing that comes to mind. After all, the state is virtually chocked full of things to do from fishing to just relaxing on one of Florida's gorgeous beaches or taking a noisy but fascinating trip through the everglades on a glider. Getting away from it all can be achieved in a Florida vacation spot that lets you just relax and enjoy yourself.

Florida isn't just about vacationing and fun parks though. There are some really great climate control storage facilities in Florida also. You may be wondering what the purpose of climate controlled storage is. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell you that are a world of things that benefit from climate control when it comes to storage, especially in Florida. If you've ever been to Florida at any time during the months of May to August, the temperatures can be sweltering. Sometimes, during the heat of the day, there may be a heat advisory, which means that people are told to stay inside where it's cool until the temperature goes down. You're probably getting the picture about climate controlled storage in Florida now.

When it is extremely hot, climate controlled storage may be the only solution to protect items that must be kept from exposure to extreme temperatures. Some items have painting or detailing that cannot be subjected to such heat or they will melt. Climate controlled storage is the perfect place for such items. You can store them and be assured that they will not be damaged by the heat, no matter how hot it gets outside the storage facility where your items are stored.

Climate controlled storage is also an excellent option for perishable items such as those wonderful oranges you can find and other food items that don't require refrigeration, just a cooler temperature than outdoors. With respect to perishable items, you know yourself that they have a limited shelf life when they are stored in the heat. Using climate controlled storage keeps them cool and out of the sun.

Direct sunlight can be very hazardous to furniture and other household items that you are not using but have in an area that is not protected from the sun. Choosing a climate controlled storage facility is the perfect way to keep these items from fading and discoloration. Continued exposure to direct sunlight can also cause your items to begin to disintegrate.

Some climate controlled storage even gives you the option of determining the temperature of your rental storage unit so that the temperature is the same inside the unit all the time. Units that provide this option usually cost more than the others though.

If you are looking for climate controlled storage in Florida, you have a lot of choices available to you and you may want to start with what location you would like to find such storage. When you narrow down your location to a few specific areas, you can begin searching for climate controlled storage that suits your particular needs. Although there is a small risk associated with Florida, which is the occasional tropical storm or hurricane, some climate controlled facilities can even offer you the assurance that your items will be safely stored there.

As a rule, good climate controlled storage should keep your items safe, dry and secure at a specified temperature all the time, not just most of the time. Be sure to check the terms of the rental agreement to ensure that there is a backup plan in case the power goes out at the facility. Also read the fine print of your rental agreement and make sure that the facility does not have the right to chance the temperature of the climate without your knowledge so that your items do not end up damaged even inside the facility; particularly with perishable foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables.
