Shopping can become a complicated procedure when you are trying to stay within a limited budget. The economy has made shopping today almost a disaster to our budgets. We need to be aware of the shopping matrix before we take our list and hit the grocery stores for whatever bargains and coupon items that we can snatch in order to save our money. Many of you are probably wondering what is the shopping matrix and how can it help me? The shopping experience is based on four factors that were developed by the manufacturers so that they could move their products and not have anything left on the shelf.

What is in a brand?

The brand is just a name! Remember that the next time when you go shopping that brand is not always full value it is what is inside the can. Premium Brands were developed by manufacturers who are well known for their good quality of products and are trusted for their reliability. There are manufacturers that we are all familiar with such as Kellogg’s, Post, Heinz, and many more whose name is consider the number one trusted companies in America today. These companies spend a lot of advertisement on selling their products. These companies like many other companies are known for making the same products and selling it under another name. They sell their products to businesses that prefer to have their name on the product. A supermarket may sell their product but have the supermarket name on the product. When you read the product it will say made and manufactured for and have the supermarket name on the package. This is the second part of the matrix giving you the same quality product at a little bit cheaper price. Then the same manufacturer’s makes products under other names in order to repackage a product and still sell it cheaper not losing out on making money. A company for instances like Heinz makes pickles with the Heinz label but they also make pickles and put other labels on the jar. The other pickles are cheaper but just as good. This is the third part of the matrix.

The last part of the matrix is the no-frills brands that are made and sold in stores like Sav-a-Lot or Aldi’s and other such stores who can sell the product at a very cheap price. The product is just as good as any branded item but a lot cheaper. Now that you are aware of the matrix of shopping you can comfortably go down the ladder of the matrix and shop with ease. You are still getting great bargains by manufacturers that you trusted over the years only at bargain prices.

What you’ll find as you grow older is that a brand is no longer important. What matters to you will be that you’re financially sound and comfortable. Society doesn’t care what you look at. You have to think to yourself, How many times have you looked at someone and commented?
