Organization requires time, dedication and the drive to complete the project once you start it. Quit worrying about organizing other people and organize areas in your home and your life that will help you first. But that's no reason for you to not organize items and streamline processes that will help you find things, save time and decrease stress in your life. The Chinese believe everything in the world belongs to one of five elements--they are: water, wood, fire, earth, and metal. The easiest way to use the natural forces of the universe when you organize is to incorporate as many of these elements into your design scheme as you can.

One important place that many people don’t think about having organized is their computer desktop. Paper, books, binders and the like are going to continue to make their way into your office so you need to make sure you have space for incoming items. Your goal in getting organized should be to have your space only 80% full at all times. The quickest way to get organized is to grab some paper and a pencil and go around the house and see which rooms and closets need to be cleaned and organized. Don’t plan on doing all this at one time. Set a schedule and stick with it. The sooner you get it done the quicker you will be on your way to stressing less about the clutter.

We are all pack rats of some sort; but it is time to stop saving ‘stuff’.
