How is it Performed?

TUBA begins with the insertion of the endoscope through a tiny incision in the natural folds of the naval. The endoscope is pushed upward to the breast, creating a track or tunnel that will be used to insert the breast implant into place. The surgeon will then make a pocket in the breast area for the implant to fit into.

The next step is to tightly roll the unfilled saline implants and push them through the naval incision and up into the breast pocket. Once it is in the correct position, the implant can then be filled with saline through the belly button. The implant is then sealed and the pocket repositioned, and the belly button incision is closed. The entire process takes between 30 and 45 minutes.

What is the Recovery Like?

The recovery from a TUBA enhancement surgery requires rest and time off from normal activities for several days. There will typically be some pain from stretched muscles and tissue, swelling, and bruising, but these symptoms should lessen quickly and the discomfort can be managed with prescribed pain medications.

The tracks that were created during the surgery may be visible under the skin for a few days to a week and are rarely permanent. In the few cases where the tracks remain visible, the cause is inability of the skin to stick to the fatty tissues again.

What are the Benefits?

The placement and size of surgical scars is better and smaller with TUBA enlargement techniques. The scar is usually so well placed that it is not even visible without close examination. Because it is all done inside, TUBA breast enhancement also makes the risk of infection much smaller and there is typically less pain because the incision is so small and all the work was done endoscopically.

TUBA surgery is also a very quick enlargement procedure which means lower costs for facilities and anesthesia. Because patients do not have to be under anesthesia as long they have less risk of complications coming out of it.

Overall, it offers great benefits and can be a perfect fit for many breast enlargement candidates. It is a more specialized technique, however, so you may need to talk with several plastic surgeons before you find one who performs TUBA breast enhancement surgery.
