This alternative is considered to be the best since you can provide more of a variety of foods, which is healthier for your dog. It's also great because you can benefit from buying what is on sale at your local grocery store.

Another alternative is to supplement a healthy, all-natural kibble with fresh meat. There are several organic and all-natural dog food companies that care about your pet and provide a quality kibble. Surprisingly, these kibbles are not that much more expensive than a premium commercial dog food.

The last alternative is to find out which dog food companies care about more than just their profits - there are a few out there. You'll just need to learn how to read the ingredient labels to figure it out. And the ingredient labels are tricky! Do you know the difference between chicken, chicken meal, chicken by-product meal, and poultry by-product meal? If you don't, you need to learn.
