When starting a new, home based business, you’ll be faced with a seemingly endless parade of challenges. One of the biggest of those challenges may very well be the inevitable criticism you’ll be getting from those closest to you. Family and friends are likely to jump all over you for being so foolish as to pursue a home based business. They’ll tell you that a home based business isn’t normal. Just prepare yourself to hear this kind of a nonsense: “Why don’t you just go and get a real job like everyone else?”

Truthfully, those who will heap criticism upon you most likely do have good intentions – they don’t want to see you get hurt. But, really, the criticism goes further than that. The real reason why somebody would not want you to pursue a goal or a dream is because misery loves company. So many people are stuck in their daily rut and routine and would sooner not see anybody around them do more with their lives.

It’s weird, isn’t it? If ever there were a time when somebody really needed encouragement, it’s when they’re gearing up to tackle a new business endeavor. But, unfortunately, it will most likely be a time where they experience loads of negativity. If this is happening to you, fret not; you’re not alone. It happens to most of us.

You know what the sweetest feeling of all is though? When you are able to make something work that everyone around you tried to prevent you from doing. The feeling you’ll get inside when your goals, dreams and visions pan out is one of the best feelings you’ll ever experience. That I can promise you!

Here’s the thing though: success in not automatic, it must be earned. Success in anything you choose to pursue is possible but it is up to you to prepare yourself accordingly. With the right training, you can succeed at anything.

Let’s say you want to start a home based business in network marketing. (I pick on network marketing because studies show that the majority of home based entrepreneurs pursue a business in this field.) Would you believe that 95% of those who start an MLM business fail? I find this statistic staggering. Network marketing has enabled more people to become financially independent than any other industry yet there is only a 5% success rate.

What this says to me is that those who do fail got off to a bad start. Starting and succeeding in a network marketing business requires some initial due diligence. Many people get started in the wrong opportunity, for the wrong reasons and with little or no training – a recipe for definite disaster. It doesn’t have to be this way. There are some amazing tools available today that can accelerate your learning and substantially improve your chances of network marketing success.

So, if you dream of achieving more in this lifetime that you’ve been blessed with, just understand that you CAN do it. If you want to feel the satisfaction of proving the naysayers wrong, you CAN do it. If you dream of building a successful home based business in network marketing, you CAN do it. However, nobody will do it for you. Your success or lack thereof will be a product of your preparation and ongoing education. Really, it’s just that simple.
