During the biting cold of February, we have one warm day to look forward, even if it’s just emotionally warming. That’s right, it’s February 14th, otherwise known as Valentine’s Day! Every year, we can use this day to express our feelings. Traditionally, this is a day for lovers (whatever stage you may be in boyfriend/girlfriend, engaged, married, etc.), but it can also be a great day for singles to show their appreciation for friends and family too. This appreciation is commonly shown through gifts, and if you find yourself struggling for ideas this year on the perfect gift for whoever is important in your life, this article is for you! Here are some of the top 5 gift ideas to get your creative juices flowing.

Dinner and a Show

Traditional for sure, this idea can still be a great way to give back to your loved one and have fun while doing it. Just make sure you take them to things they’d enjoy, such as a restaurant you know they’ve always wanted to try or a movie or a play they want to see. As with everything in a relationship, this is a good time to show that you know them well and that you know what they like.

Give Them a Star

Nothing says “I love you” quite like literally giving someone a piece of the sky. There are no certified websites out there that allow you to name a star or galaxy after someone if you’re willing to pay. They’ll even provide a beautiful certificate with the new name and even a picture of what the star or galaxy looks like. This unique gift is sure to delight and show that your love truly is everlasting. Just make sure no exes in their past have already given them this gift, because it’s only amazing if it really is the only gift like it they’ve ever gotten.

Stuffed Animals

This is a favorite gift because there’s so much room to be creative. If you know they have a favorite animal this is a great gift to get them, because once again it will show how well you know them. It can also be creatively paired with many other gifts for a unique and special presentation. For example, get a little plush cat or a stuffed lion (if that’s one of their favorites) and have the animal hold something. This could be anything from flowers, candy, jewelry, or even a pair of plane tickets if you are planning an extravagant couples get away. Use the stuffed animals to make a real statement. Also, if you have the money and want to make a really big statement, consider getting one of the largest plush toys available. For example if you were to get your spouse a 90 inch teddy bear as tall as they were, they would really be wowed!

A Cute Pet

Not only would this be a great gift for animal lovers, but this can also be a great way to take your relationship to the next level, (or for that matter be great if you are already at that level). Get a pet, whether it be a dog, cat, fish or something else, that you can care for together. Just imagine the look on your girlfriend or boyfriends face when they get an adorable puppy in a red satin bow! Of course, this is not the right gift for everyone. If you know you could never agree on what type of pet to get this would be a bad idea. Or if your loved one has allergies. But if you know you are both ready to take that next step and you are animal lovers, this could make a very memorable Valentine’s Day.

Heart Filled Moments

The heart is the symbol of choice for February 14th, and on Valentine’s Day, you can find more hearts than just those in the candy and flower industries. Nowadays, practically anything can be made into a heart shape on the 14th. Most local pizza stores will offer a heart-shaped pizza on Valentine’s Day. It may not be the fanciest gift, but if you’ve got a low-key sweetie or a group of friends to entertain, it can be a nice nod to the holiday. A heart-shaped coffee mug to hand to your sweetie on the morning of can have the same effect. As you can see, there are many simple ways to make the day more fun and meaningful.

So there you go. There should be something among these ideas to help you find the perfect Valentine’s Day gift no matter your style or budget. Find a gift that comes from the heart, and your sweetie, (or friends and family) will be overjoyed by how much you care. Have a great Valentine’s Day!
