The Rhineland is as diverse as it is beautiful, with a huge range of activities to get involved with and enjoy. The beauty and power of the river and its surroundings are best enjoyed when camping in the Rhineland, which also gives you a whole range of opportunities that staying in a hotel doesn’t…

For some of the best camping in Germany we suggest staying in Saarburg at the Camping Landal Warsberg campsite. The campsite itself gives you the best of both worlds, a camping and luxury outdoors holiday; comprised of spacious tents and luxury mobile homes (both with kitchens and living areas), as well as resort style facilities on the campsite. The site also offers some of the best facilities of all the German campsites you could stay at, with an indoor swimming pool with children’s area, sauna, Jacuzzi, sports facilities for tennis, football, basketball and a climbing area, as well as a children’s playground. The whole Rhineland camping experience is geared towards helping you enjoy yourself, both on and off the campsite.

Venturing further from the campsite, the Rhineland offers something for everyone. For those who love rides, thrills and fun, you are close to Europa Park, which is in season from April to November and then for December and Christmas. It’s one of Europe’s most exciting and exhilarating theme parks, with 14 different zones encompassing all of Europe in culture, fun and great rides. Worth a visit for a day, it’s within easy reach of the Camping Landal Warsberg site and many other German Campsites.

For those who want a more relaxed holiday camping in Germany, the Rhine has a huge range of picturesque villages and towns to visit and explore. If you are staying at the Camping Landal Warsberg campsite the charming town of Saarburg is on your doorstep. You can walk down to the town or take the chairlift (which the children love). The town itself is a typical example of German friendly hospitality and history. Situated on the Saar River (a tributary of the Moselle and Rhine), the town includes a ruined castle, traditional German architecture and the only bronze bell maker’s in the country. The area is also known for its cultivation of Riesling grapes, and many local vineyards offers tours and tastings.

While on a camping holiday in the Rhineland, you are also in the perfect position to explore the river’s gorges and tributaries. The Rhine Gorge itself is a UNESCO world heritage site, and is powerful and beautiful in equal measure. Seeing the site is an incredible and breathtaking experience that everyone will enjoy and treasure. For hiking enthusiasts, nature walks along the banks will be a highlight for any ramblers or for those who like a gentle stroll, depending on which routes you decide to take.

Whether you go as a family, with a group, or with partners and friends, Camping in Germany is a great experience. With such a wide variety of activities to choose from and places to visit, it will be an incredibly memorable holiday for anyone involved.
