Do's and Don'ts of Barstool Covers

If you have barstools, you need barstool covers. They help protect your stools and keep the elements from them. Wind, dirt, and sun can damage your barstools. By getting appropriate covers that fit your stools, you'll be able to keep them safe and clean for years.

However, there are a few don'ts when it comes to covering your barstools. Read through the following Dos and Don'ts of barstool covers and get an idea of how to use them wisely (and how not to).

Barstool Cover Dos

Always Cover Your Stools when Not in Use

Even if it's only for a day, you should always cover your barstools when you're not using them. If you let them sit out in the sun, they can begin to fade. And letting dirt and dust build up on them won't help them either. So every time they're not in use, put a cover over them.

Cover Your Barstools and Store Them

Barstool covers can also protect your barstools when they're stored in your garage or shed. Even when they're protected indoors, the elements can still get to them. Sheds and garages aren't very insulated and let dirty and dust in through cracks and crevices. Covering your barstools when you store them will ensure that when you take them out next summer, they'll still be in perfect condition.

Barstool Cover Don'ts

Use a Bed Sheet to Cover Your Stools

Although it may seem to work, using a bed sheet to cover your barstools isn't the best solution. They're often too thin and just weren't designed to keep the elements out like barstool covers are. Barstool covers tend to be made of durable materials like vinyl and leather. So unless you have vinyl or leather sheets, don't use your bedding to cover your stools.

Cover Your Stools and Leave them Out All Winter

If it's summertime and there's not a drop of rain or flake of snow in sight, it's ok to cover your stools and leave them outside a day or two. However, if it's the dead of winter and there's no chance you're going to be outside using the BBQ, cover your barstools and then store them away. Barstool covers can only protect so much. The idea is to maintain the integrity of your barstools and your covers as much as possible. So instead of letting the snow and rain eat away your covers, cover your stools and store them away.

Extra Tip:

If you’ve always wanted a home bar complete with sink, shelves, and even a tap, then you’ve come to the right place. Here you’ll find a basic guide explaining what you need to consider when constructing a home bar. There are a number of ways to tackle such a project. The important thing is to know what options you have an what’s involved.

Extra TIP:

Home bars come in various “put together” types. Some are simple and require a few screws/bolts to put together. However, these types of bars are typically basic and are free standing (i.e. can be moved anywhere). If you want your home bar to be part of the room (i.e. built into the room), you’re going to have to secure the structure to the wall and floor. And if you want to have a built-in sink and even a kegerator, that will require additional plumbing and electrical work.

There are various types of home bars you can integrate into your home. Some are very simple while others are complete extensions of the room. You can go as simple as a wall mounted bar cabinet to having a complete bar installed with various taps for beer. The choice is up to you
