If you are carrying a camera, record all the finer details of the accident and its location. Even your cell phone may do the trick. Make sure that the actual position of the car or cars is recorded before you make any attempt to move them to safety.

Take notes of and make sketches of the car positions when the accident occurred. How the occupants were seated and in which lane were you and the other car before the accident occurred. Having the weather conditions with the time and date of the accident in your notes could help in the future. The registration number of the other car and all other notes should be made while the incident is still fresh in your mind.

Fault finding or admitting guilt is definitely not to be done unless you’re reporting to the police. There are experts who would do this and your opinion will not really matter. And last but the most important one is to make sure that you inform your insurance company of the accident as soon as possible.
