Lets face it when its 5am in the morning and you are trying to get the last couple of hours of sleep and kitty thinks its time to play or even better yet “lets eat”. First things first by getting up and going in and getting food for the cat so that you can get extra sleep. Bad idea because you see its called confirmed condition.

I want to eat and I do this or that and guess what “I get what I want”. We have to make adjustments for sure. We know “Sir Winston” our cat starts with a tap from his paw, then the claws, followed by the ever popular bump on the head ,then my favorite “wet nose” that one gets me for sure.

Certainly you should be sensitive to your cat's needs and feelings, but if he is lonely or hungry, then play with him or feed him earlier in the evening. You can encourage your cat to consume more water by; feeding wet food, always keeping the water fresh, and putting out multiple water dishes - especially in a larger house. Experiment to determine what type of container your cat likes to drink out of - flat, wide dishes; cups; bowls. Cats do not like there whiskers to touch any part of the bowl.

But it may not be seeking 'make a fuss of me' or 'feed me now attention,' your cat's cries could be a signal that all is not well. Almost half of the owners surveyed had been 'trained' to feed their cat on demand. Only 1 per cent fed once a day, 26 per cent twice a day and 24 per cent three times a day. He seems to want food, but all night-time feeding strategies we've tried end up with the same result. So now, in an ironic development, we're sleep deprived from the cat, go figure!

Unlike human eyes, which work best in day light, the cat’s eyes must function well in extremely low light condition and as such are well suited to an animal that is predominantly nocturnal and crepuscular in activity. In darkness, cat’s eyes are able to function in approximately one-sixth of the light needed for human vision. So don’t chase after the cat in a dimly lit room you will loose!

The first step in breaking this habit is to exercise your cat daily with active play sessions. Don't expect kitty to exercise themselves. You have to find toys, even paper bags hide things in it anything that will keep kitty up and running around, hunting, stalking, and attacking the toys. Think about this you work they are alone at home, and well boredom sets in “its play time” then its rest time Note: they like to sleep 12 to 16 hours a day.(almost day light hours) sorry but that is the truth.

You come home and happy time! Mom and Dad are home and that’s right “feed me” time and then it starts all over again. This is a cat’s life. But if you don’t like it, well then “Get a Dog”!! But remember “Cats Rule and Dogs Drool” We hope that this will give you a little more incite to how a cats life works.
