Toys are considered to be a pastime or a leisure item for dogs, but those who really love their dogs, will know how important toys are for the mental and physical satisfaction of your dogs. One cannot imagine a child’s life without toys, and the same applies for your dear canine friend too. When you have made all efforts for his physical comfort by providing him a dog house and a bed, clothes and collars and hats, why not also make him happy playing with small dog toys?

Small dogs generally measure less than 10 inches in height, and they are dogs that like to stay indoors. Dogs cannot do without chewing and the best way to control their chewing habits is to get them some chewing toys. Small dogs toys have to be carefully selected, specially the chewing ones. They should not be too big as to not give them breathing space and they should not be too small, incase they swallow the toy. There are a lot of designers who work on small dog toys which are meant especially for your little pets in order to ensure complete safety for your pup. They have designed lots of toys which are theme based like plush dog toys, set based toys, chewable toys, etc. All the varieties are designed for a specific purpose for your pets.

These small dog toys also serve as nice gifts or rewards for your pets to encourage them for any type of good work done or discipline maintained by them at home. There are some interesting ways in which you can reward your pooches with delightful and enjoyable small dog toys. You could choose a rubber ball and as your dog rolls the ball, he will find that it is so much fun to play around the house!. You can also purchase some other small dogy toys too, which you can give to your pet so that he doesn’t get bored.

Basically all dogs are born with an innate tendency of chewing and gnawing. Satisfying this instinct is really important or else they might go crazy and start chewing your personal belongings or household articles. Another popular item when going shopping for small dog toys are toy bones, which are quite helpful in bringing in this satisfaction to your beloved doggies. These are made up of sturdy rubber. Though these are especially designed for aggressive chewers, mostly the larger breeds, but it is also good for the small poodles too. The toy bones are tough and long lasting and can resist the rough handling by the dogs. For hours together, the dogs can keep playing with these small dog toys and chewing and gnawing them.

If you have kids, one toy serves to keep both the members of the family busy. Kids can also play together with their dogs. Your pet, being the best one, should be gifted with the finest things in life and these small dog toys serve the ideal purpose.
