When you’re looking for a great deal on a vacation package, there are several things you can do to find the best possible deal for your destination. Consider the following tips when booking your next vacation:

Book your vacation in advance.

The further in advance you book your vacation, the more money you’ll save on your vacation package. You’ll also have a better chance of securing the best hotel rooms if you book early. In fact, many of the vacation packages offered today include a suite or similar accommodations for the same price as a regular hotel room, if you book your package far enough in advance.

Travel during the off-season.

You can find outstanding deals on vacation packages if you travel during the off-peak seasons. Most popular tourist destinations have almost 70% of their visitors over a period of six months or so out of the year. By traveling during the other, less popular months, you can save a ton of money on your vacation package.

Be flexible.

If you’re flexible in your travel dates or the hotel you want to stay in, you may be able to find a great deal. Sometimes, even altering your plans by one day can save you a significant amount of money. If the hotel you want to stay in is full, or if it’s only offering accommodations at full price, consider checking other hotels in the area. You may find a hotel that has lowered its price to cover the overflow.

Book through a travel agent.

Many times, travel agents have the inside scoop on great vacation packages. A travel agent can purchase these types of vacation in bulk and pass the savings on to their customers. Not only will the package usually cost less, but you won’t have to worry about any of the details associated with planning a vacation either.

Use your travel reward points.

You can often use your frequent flyer miles to pay for a portion of the airfare or hotel in your vacation package. There are also many travel clubs, such as AAA, that offer great deals on vacation packages. You can find many of these travel clubs through your local travel agent, insurance company, or even through your bank.

Go with a group.

If you can find a group to travel with, you’ll be able to cash in on tremendous savings. Group travel usually qualifies for reduced pricing on airfare and hotel rooms and attraction tickets as well – since the vendor is guaranteed to sell a specific number of tickets to your group members, they can afford to give you an extra discount.
