It is obvious that one can pull off a decent magic show with great practice and knowledge about the magic tricks. But there are many keen points to be noted which plays the important role of giving the ‘feel’ of magic to the audience more than the trick itself. Glancing through the simple magic tricks scattered all over the internet would have indicated that most of the tricks are too simple, leaving one to wonder how the onlookers did not see right through it. Well the answer is the careful chattering of the performer had kept the audience occupied and distracted them from noticing the small hidden actions of the ‘magicians’. The level of this art to engross the audience varies with the magnitude of the magic trick performed. So this goes without saying that it demands more practice and professionalism if one wishes to handle bigger crowds or perform complicated magic tricks. But whatever may be the case, here are few general dos and don’t while performing the magic tricks to be considered.

Dos while executing the Magic Tricks:

• Watch as many magicians in action as possible prior to hosting your own little show. Just mere watching will not help but observe the ways in which the professional magicians pull off the show.

• Think scientifically about how the magic trick had worked. This will be very helpful to self-learn more magic tricks. Remember there is always a scientific or logical explanation behind each magic tricks and they continue to be ‘magical’ till these reasons are not explored.

• Dedicated preparation is undoubtedly the first requirement if one wishes to execute even the simpler magic tricks. Practicing in front of the mirror and visualizing the onstage performance with the audience watching will be more effective.

• It is better if the interested individual is a passable speaker as they will have less trouble in keeping the audience engrossed. If otherwise, the skill can be mastered by watching the professionals at work. It is important to prepare the free-flowing and interesting speech also prior to the magical show.
•Select the right place and the right moment to start the casual magic tricks. The atmosphere will be advantageous only if the tricks are done in an informal or friendly get together rather than the more serious times.

Don’ts to be remembered:

• Care must be taken to notice if the audiences are seen to be losing their interest. It can bitter to cut short the number of tricks one had planned but continuing will make the onlookers detest your performance in future too.

• Though it may sound unimportant, care must be taken to not reveal the secrets to any of the friend or family who will also be among the onlookers. It is understandable that the amateur performer will be excited about the show but confessing the trick prior to the show may turn to be a spoilsport. Imagine the crowd returning a blank look just after the best of the trick was pulled off.
