Warm colors on the walls, fountains, soft music and even muted lighting (if the procedure permits it) make the room nicer.

Another bonus of medical spa services are the extras you wouldn't get in a regular clinic. One common little extra is a mini-massage to accompany your skin rejuvenation treatments. Arms, hands and neck are often treated to a massage while a facial or chemical peel works its magic. It may not eliminate the mild discomfort of the procedure, but it does distract you a bit. Aromatherapy may also be used to put you at ease and calm your mind while you turn back the years.

Along with these services, they also offer products for use after the treatments. These are creams, lotions and other products that have been tested by the med spa staff to help enhance and extend the results of the procedures they offer. These products are a bit more expensive than the creams and lotions you can get in a regular health and beauty aisle.

This is because of the high-grade ingredients and science that goes into developing the right formula to help reduce dark spots, wrinkles or whatever problem you seek treatment for. Often, classes are required for spas to carry some of these products because of their potency.

If you are interested in visiting a medical spa, check out the facility and the staff first. Because these procedures are medical-grade, you want to make sure there is a physician overseeing the facility and that everyone on staff is licensed and certified to perform the procedures and operate the equipment.

There are risks involved with any procedure and only an experienced technician should be performing them. And of course, you want to make sure they offer the atmosphere that is most relaxing to you.
