If you want value, if you want entertainment, if you want endless bars, booze, babes and a totally memorable stag weekend experience then look east. If you want sensationally good looking girls, death defying, life enhancing, buddy bonding and are-you-sure-this-is-legal activities then head out of the Eurozone to the hottest, newest venues on the Eastern Bloc. Stag weekends in Budapest, Riga and Krakow are now well and truly the way forward.

With Sterling having crashed against the Euro by more than 25 per cent over the last 18 months and more than 12 per cent since September, fears over the state of the UK economy mean that holidaying in the Eurozone is getting scarily expensive. The Post Office is now offering exchange rates of less than 1 to 1 on GBP to Euro. The pitiful value of the pound these days, whilst great for hordes of camera touting Japanese and American visitors to the UK, spells financial disaster for Brits spending their hard earned cash in Euroland.

It’s difficult enough at the moment with all the uncertainty caused by the credit crunch - the last thing any one needs when organising a stag weekend is the added grief caused by the weakness of the pound against the Euro.

The truth is you can still enjoy cheap beer, cheap accommodation, cheap food, cheap nightclubbing, cheap strip-clubbing and great activities such as quad biking, go-carting, paint-balling, white water rafting, Uzi shooting, mud wrestling and all the other fantastic adrenalin-fuelled mayhem that a stag week end offers at bargain prices. You’ll just have to look at new destinations to find it.

Just because the value of the pound is through the floor against most currencies, particularly the Euro and the Dollar, doesn’t mean that there aren’t great deals to be had. Choose your destination wisely and use the credit crunch to your advantage.

There are plenty of better value destinations for stag weekends than traditional Amsterdam or Barcelona. Stag weekends in Riga, Budapest and Krakow for example, destinations where the pound has held its value better, are now offering exceptional value for money. For example the Halifax recently commented: "UK holidaymakers visiting Poland in December would have received approximately 4.42 Polish zloty per pound - an increase of four per cent from June 2008."

With beer at about £1 a pint, a decent meal for a fiver hard to find at a fiver, make it TEN., cigarettes at under £2 a pack of 20 and taxis about the same as in the UK it’s not hard to recognise stag weekends in Budapest and Krakow as offering excellent value.

It’s worth remembering that if you go on a great value stag weekend to Budapest, Krakow or Riga it pays to book through a reputable stag weekend operator. Having local knowledge can also save you a fortune on taxi fares, entrance fees and activities as well giving you access to those bars and clubs that are harder to reach. Your stag weekend organise will also be able to book activities, arrange quick and efficient transport to and from the airport and source the best accommodation at the best prices.
