The money is in the list. As an internet marketer, you know that building your email list is absolutely essential if you want to make money. There’s one key component to successfully building a list however: Getting traffic to your squeeze page. Some great ways to do this are PPC, article marketing and getting affiliates.

Pay Per Click Marketing

Pay Per Click marketing is perhaps the most efficient way to drive traffic on the internet. It’s efficient because it’s fast and can be tracked.

The goal with Pay Per Click marketing is to break even. You don’t need to make much of a profit, because you’re building your list. If you can get 100 people a day on your list and break even, you’re doing incredibly well.

The trick to Pay Per Click success is continual testing and improvement. It’s much easier to get something that’s almost working to work than it is to try and start over doing something completely new.

Article Marketing

Article marketing is a slower but cheaper way to get traffic to a website. With article marketing, you pay with time instead of with money.

Here’s how it works: You write a bunch of articles and submit them to article directories. Article directories are crawled regularly and your content will get indexed quickly. If you chose good keywords and used good SEO principles, your article will rank highly and you’ll get traffic.

Generally, article marketing involves doing a lot of work for a little bit of traffic. If you keep working at it though, that little bit of traffic can turn into a whole lot of traffic over time.

Affiliate Marketing

Here’s the secret to affiliate marketing: Good statistics. Most Internet marketing experts agree that it’s usually best to test your stats using AdWords or other marketing tactics before you approach potential affiliates.

You can do a lot of refining using PPC. It’s usually best to do that refining before you approach your potential affiliates. Why? If an affiliate promotes your product and it doesn’t convert, your bridge is burned forever. On the other hand, if an affiliate promotes your product and it does convert, then they’ll likely keep promoting your product again and again.

Furthermore, you usually won’t be able to get big JV deals unless you have your stats. Most “heavy hitters” don’t want to do business with first timers because they know that there’s a big risk of losing money.

Nobody wants to use their traffic to test someone else's marketing. You can’t expect your affiliates to want to send you traffic unless you can provide solid statistics on how your page converts.

Getting Traffic to Your Squeeze Page

These are three of the top ways to get traffic your squeeze page. Pay Per Click, Article Marketing and Affiliate marketing once you’re ready. Keep in mind that each one of these techniques alone has been responsible for many businesses' success. You don’t need to do everything right. Just do one thing exceptionally well and you’re off to a great start.
