I know that being a mom, mornings can be so crazy at times. Just getting the kids dressed for school can be a task. I have found these few steps alone will give you better mornings.

1. Have your children clothes laid out the night before. Make sure that your children have seen and agree with what you have laid out for them. That way when it comes time to get dressed the next morning no one will be upset with their clothes.

2. Have all baths and showers to be taken at night. Taking baths in the morning makes it hard for everyone who needs in the bathroom to get ready. With most families the bathroom is the busiest room in the house in the mornings.

3. Have all papers, notes, planners, and homework signed and put back into your child’s book bag. The best to do this is when your child arrives home from school. You will have it done and out of the way. Have your child’s book bag in a place they know exactly where to find it the next morning. This saves from having to search for it.

4. Have any snacks or lunches ready and waiting in the refrigerator. I have found that even having your child’s name on each individual bag saves on fighting among your children. If you pay for your child’s lunch have it ready to go on Sunday night. Put it in their book bag. It always helps the child if it is put in the same place every week.

5. I stopped asking my children a long time ago if they had homework. It seemed that when I just asked them they would always pop up the next morning with Oh yeah, I forgot I have homework. I started checking their book bags myself. Taking the few extra minutes to see for myself saved me a lot of headache in the mornings. It also saved my children a lot of zeros.

6. If you drive your children to school it is important that you know who is sitting up front and who is sitting at the doors. If you take turns with the kids they will always know who sits where. It will never be a problem.

These are just a few tips that may help you have some smooth mornings. I have taken these tips and applied them to my life and still have those mornings when nothing goes right. Then I think how much worse it would have been if I had not took these steps to make my families life just a little bit easier.
