European House Plans Showcase Elegant Characteristics

If you’re looking for a home that projects a certain level of charm and sophistication, you will have no trouble finding it with a European house plan. The cozy atmosphere that is given with a European home is often desired by families of any size. Whether you want a cottage in the woods or a mansion on a hill, you can easily incorporate the characteristics that are found with a European home. Both the interior and exterior of a European room have classic features that many people want their home to illustrate.

European Home Designs Give Homeowners a Sophisticated Style

The exterior of a European house plan combines Old World elements into a modern fashion to offer you a home that gives you everything you want. This architectural home design often includes a steep, hipped roof with flared curves at the eaves. A European house will typically have many gables and a roof that comes down to the home’s windows. Brick, stone, and stucco are generally what the outside of the home is constructed of to further enhance the appearance.

European homes are usually one or two stories and can be considered a luxurious house design. The garage is attached to the main building which provides homeowners with easy access to an additional storage area, whether it’s for cars or a place to keep lawn and woodworking equipment. European houses have palladian windows to finish the exterior look. While you will find many of the same features on a European home’s exterior, there are still plenty of combinations you have to choose from in order to make it look exactly how you want.

Spacious Rooms Bring Families Together in European Homes

The first thing you will notice when walking into a European house plan will be the elegant foyers that use natural lighting to portray a welcoming atmosphere for friends and family. Other rooms in the home are usually open to create an easy flow throughout the house. This allows small houses to give the appearance of a greater amount of square footage without walls that close individual rooms off from each other.

While most European house plans are made for larger homes, houses that are small in size can also incorporate the many different elements that European homes include. The open floor plan gives smaller homes the ability to look larger and increases the livable space available in living rooms, dining areas, and kitchens. You are still given plenty of choices to be able to reflect your style throughout the exterior and interior of the home.

great rooms are typicall found with vaulted or cathedral ceilings to increase the appearance of luxury living. Rich detailing can be found inside to further customize the look of the home. While European house plans have been around for many years, architects can easily include modern elements that match the modern design preferences. A custom home architect will take into consideration everything you need from the home and construct a design that works well for your family.
