Basic Advertising Strategy to Reach Target Audience

An advertising strategy is a promotion designed to publicize company’s products and services to its potential buyers. The strategy developed in a sensible and intelligent manner coordinates various business aspects including marketing budget, objective, company’s image and market share growth to get the best effect. Even small enterprise with limited capital can succeed in their advertising campaigns. The key is creative ideas and flexible planning that open up multiple avenues to reach the target audience.

Best advertising results when some of the major goals are achieved. Most advertising strategies focus on accomplishing three common goals which are:

• Informing consumers, that is creating awareness of a business and its product or services;

• Convincing customers to buy the products, that is generate and increase sales and attract competitors' customers

• Remind the consumer about the company by creating or modifying the image of the company

With these objectives on the agenda, most businesses pursue a common procedure that integrates advertising and other promotional efforts into overall marketing goal of the enterprise.

Business advertising strategies hugely depend on the target audience. It refers the people who actually buy the product, those willing to buying the product as well as those who influence the purchase process. Based on these three things some of the basic advertising strategies are:

Feel Good

Often commercials try to create emotional vibes that draw viewers towards the advertisement and make them feel good. There are many ads that feature mother and child playing together or friends hugging each other are good examples of feel good commercial.

Cute Kids

Featuring kids in commercials that advertise other than toys or kids’ products is another common approach. We do not expect a kid to be perfect. They play role models for the target audience that the advertiser wants to act like.

Like Life

Sometimes commercials on toys try to give a life like feel. The sight of kids or imaginary characters doing incredible things with toy guns or airplanes or cars kindles the desire in children’s tender mind to acquire those things. We see life-like settings in Barbie ads too as Barbie takes stroll along the beach or play in the water.

Sounds Effect

Music and stereophonic sounds often play a key role in setting the mood and making a commercial more attractive.

Star Power

Featuring celebrities in the commercial is a common technique that is being used for years and still proved to be effective. These commercials are designed keeping in mind the theory that common people love to do what their favorite stars do.

Family Entertainment

These days many commercials focus on family fun and entertainment. In this age of nuclear families and busy life the idea of encouraging togetherness among family members is quite effective as it tickles subtle feelings and emotions.
Nevertheless, whatever your commercial plans might be selecting a communication media is a prior task. The media is the ultimate means to convey your product ideas and advertising messages to consumers out there. In addition to goal of marketing and monetary constraints the characteristics of target audience is a main consideration while choosing appropriate media. Best ads are those that succeed in effective media use.
