With these definitions in mind, becoming an affiliate marketer online really takes no legwork at all. The only thing anyone needs to get started as an affiliate is an established website or blog. Having a website or blog is where an affiliate’s widget or website link will be advertised. There are several websites anyone with a website or blog can apply to in able to get affiliate codes added to their website of blog.

If an individual is new to the Internet, first you would need to type in free websites, free web hosting or creating a blog into any search engine. Before registering to have your own website or blog, think about what niche you want to target. Maybe you area a Mommy, gardener, poet or like to talk politics. These are niches which will gain a lot of website or blog hits. Once finding a niche, you can search for a reasonably priced company to host a website or look for companies where you can register for a free blog. With a blog, it has to be up and running with current blog posts for three months. This is probably the same for a website.

After the three-month period, applying to companies who have lists of affiliate programs is next. Depending on the niche you chose, these are the affiliate program codes you will add to your website or blog. Before adding any affiliate code to a website or blog, you must apply with that company and be approved. Once approved, that company code can be copied and pasted to your website or blog.

Many affiliates allow a website owner or blog user to promote their company through writing an article or blog post. Before doing this, ask to make sure you are not violating any agreements. Even though the affiliate widget or link is on your website or blog, it can be overlooked. This is where a written article comes into play.

Affiliate marketing can bring in extra income to any Internet user. An Internet user does not have to be in dire straights either to earn money in this fashion. Being an affiliate marketer is the new trend and quite possibly the only way to earn an extra income today.
