A microfiber sofa is a great investment, and one you definitely want to keep looking good. While they will hold up for a very long time you certainly don’t want them to start looking worn or dingy. There are some great tips for cleaning microfiber sofas that you can use to your benefit.

It is important to understand such cleaning tips will only work on real microfiber. There are tons of imitators out there which means you will end up with something that you have a hard time cleaning. Make sure you invest in the real thing if you want to avoid such hassles later on for yourself.

You don’t want to use any types of harsh chemicals to clean your microfiber sofa. You really won’t need to as most things will be a breeze to clean up without them. You can use a few drops of dish soap with some hot water to quickly and easily remove the problems.

If you have urine on your microfiber sofa from a child or a pet, it too can easily be removed. You can do this with some vinegar diluted in distilled water. Not only will this process remove the stain, but it will get rid of the smell rapidly for you as well. If the urine has dried you may need to add some baking soda onto it and then vacuum it up after a couple of minutes.

Some people worry that such cleaning is going to remove the colors from their microfiber sofas. You don’t need to worry though as the main fiber for all of it is microfiber. The colors are going to stay where they should be when you use such cleaning methods. Some people have harmed them though using bleach or other chemicals so make sure you don’t do that.

Many people wonder if they can steam clean their microfiber sofa. While you shouldn’t need to for small stains, it can be a great way to keep it looking new. If your sofa gets plenty of use then you can do it once or twice a year as you do your carpets. There are machines you can rent with the attachments or you can hire a professional to take care of it for you.

One added tip is that microfiber repels water and similar substances. Therefore you want to do your best to remove any spills as quickly as you can. They will be much easier to clean up at that stage than if you allow them to dry. You don’t have to worry about dried water rings either when you are cleaning it as you do with some other types of furniture.

As you can see, it is quite simple enough to keep any microfiber sofa clean. This is one of the many reasons why people love to purchase them. With this type of item you can feel good about it and enjoy it. You won’t have to worry about spills ruining it or leaving ugly stains as reminders.
