When organizing your home, one of the most difficult places to clean up is the garage. In most homes, the garage tends to be the area with the most clutter. People often wonder where they are going to put all of the tools, paint, and other loose items. Shelving systems, storage boxes, and drawer organizers are convenient, but they also cost money. Using recycled boxes to organize your garage is environmentally friendly and an inexpensive way of organizing your garage.

There are many ways of obtaining recycled boxes. Many box retailers sell recycled boxes in a variety of sizes and strengths. Recycled boxes often come in small, medium, large, extra-large and jumbo sizes. Recycled boxes are strong enough to allow stacking. Boxes can also be purchased from online recycled box retailers. As well, you can acquire used boxes from businesses, supermarkets, appliance stores, and department stores.

The following is a list of helpful tips on using recycled boxes to organize your garage:

Acquire Useful Recycled Boxes: Before you acquire recycled boxes to organize your garage, you should group items and decide where you want to put them. You want to make sure you have the right box size. Once you have grouped the items, you can then acquire the appropriate recycled boxes.

Storage Drawers: When organizing your garage, storage drawers become a key method of reducing clutter. Recycled boxes make great storage drawers. For small items, cereal boxes and shoe boxes make great storage drawers.

Loose Nails and Screws: Almost every homeowner has a variety of screws and nails scattered throughout the garage. A great way to organize these items is placing them in small recycled boxes. You can separate them according to size and place a label on each box. Because the boxes are small, the will fit neatly on a shelf.

Paints, Paint Brushes, and Paint Thinners: We tend to collect a lot of paint over time. Placing paint cans and painting supplies in recycled boxes will help reduce clutter. If you need to keep your brushes in a metal can, you just place the can in the box. You can label the box and set it on a shelf. If you are concerned about paint dripping in the box, you can line the box with newspaper

Gardening Tools: For those with a green thumb, using recycled boxes to store all of your garden tools is a great idea. There are recycled boxes that will hold all of your garden equipment. You can hang larger items such as rakes and hoes on the garage wall and place your labeled box of smaller garden tools next to them. This will provide easy and quick access.

Sports Equipment: We tend to leave sports equipment such as basket balls, soccer balls, and baseball bats, lying around the garage. To reduce the clutter, you can use recycled boxes to store the equipment. You can use a box for each sport and attach a label.

Hand Tools, and Power Tools: Items such as hammers and drills often get lost in the clutter. Using recycled boxes is a great way to organize your tool equipment.

Most garage owners do not know where to store all of the clutter. When looking on the tables, shelves, floor, and walls, it may seem like an overwhelming task. It is important to think outside the box to come up with a creative and inexpensive way to organize. Choosing to use recycled boxes is a great way to reduce clutter. Not only is it economical, but it also helps the environment. You will also be helping to reduce the amount of waste going into your landfill.
