Herpes supplements are quickly becoming the treatment of choice for those affected by the Herpes virus. This is because Herpes supplements attack the virus from the inside out and help delay outbreaks rather than merely treating them once they occur like topical solutions do. The unfortunate reality is that the Herpes virus can not be cured: it can only be suppressed.

Therefore, if you have Herpes, you have two choices: react when an outbreak develops, or be proactive and reduce the chances of having an outbreak altogether.

Whichever method you choose, it is essential that you not only address your disease in terms of choosing a treatment, but you should also examine your lifestyle. This is because there is a direct and distinct connection between health and the immune system. The healthier you are, the better your chances at delaying an outbreak are. In addition, if you have an outbreak, your health will determine how soon the outbreak recedes.

Healthy is of course a relative term, but is generally reserved for those individuals that eat well, exercise regularly, and avoid unhealthy practices such as smoking, drinking excessive amounts of alcohol, and using illicit drugs.

Once you have addressed your overall health, it is time to make the decision regarding which treatment path you wish to proceed with. It should be noted, that there are prescription drugs which have been proven to be effective. However, in many cases, those affected by Herpes simply can not afford these drugs even if they have medical insurance.

Additionally, many people prefer to use alternative, all-natural treatment
methods such as taking a daily Herpes supplement. This is because all-natural supplements generally carry a very small risk of side effects.

In conclusion, treating Herpes is a very personal choice as there are multiple treatment options. However, like any medical decision in life, you should carefully weigh your options, do you homework including studying the ingredients of each product, as well as compare the cost effectiveness of each Herpes treatment.

Remember that there are two different strains of the Herpes virus: HSV-1, and HSV-2. The first strain is the less serious and most common strain and produces cold sores and fever blisters. The HSV-2 strain, refers to genital Herpes.

While both strains of the Herpes virus typically produce symptoms, it is still possible to transmit the virus to a partner regardless if there are any visible symptoms or not. This is why it is vital that you discuss your disease prior to engaging in any physical activity. It is also important to note that using common safe sex practices such as wearing a condom does not eliminate the chances of transmission, but rather reduces them.

Thankfully both Herpes supplements and topical solutions work on both strains of the virus. However, as previously noted, Herpes supplements help reduce the chances of outbreaks rather than solely treating them once they develop.

This article is not meant to be used as a medical diagnosis, but is rather intended to help educate those affected by the Herpes virus of their treatment options.
