Norwich is based in the East of England and is a city within Norfolk. Historically, Norwich was recognised for standing as the most important area in all of Britain and was in fact, the second largest city in the country back in the eleventh century.

The city has many things to offer, one of them being the city boats where visitors can take time out and relax on a boat trip encompassing the beautiful landscapes that surround the view. Many of the boats are used daily and used for transport as visitors can take the ‘River Bus’ to work. Alternatively, visitors are able to go on chartered cruises when booked within large groups. The boats often have themed musical nights and are particularly enjoyable as the view of the city is breathtaking at night.

For shopping, visitors can go to Chapelfield Shopping Centre based in the heart of the city. It houses over 90 popular retail stores and is the only shopping centre in the entire region that has the top end concession retailer, House of Fraser. There are also a wide range of stylish restaurants and cafes making Chapelfield Shopping Centre a superb destination for a day out. It is open every day of the week and has a huge car parking facility that holds a capacity of 1,000 cars.

Another great place to visit is Cinema City, which is an independent, art-house cinema. It has recently been through severe redevelopment and is now newly refurbished having gone through a restoration programme costing £4.5 million. Originally a medieval building, and known as the oldest independent art house cinema in England, it has now become the largest with over 300 seats available and 3 operational screens.

For a more historic experience of Norwich you can visit the Royal Norfolk Regimental Museum where you can learn more about the lives of soldiers and their families as you are taken through their stories on war and peace from the last few centuries. You will have a chance to read letters, poems and journals of soldiers, highlighting their everyday experiences and are able to go thorough military memorabilia. The regiment was formed in 1685 and has since been involved in significant campaigns internationally. Visitors have a selection of 12,000 archived images that they can study.

Visitors can explore the city’s heritage at The Plantation Garden. The garden was established less than two centuries ago and covers three acres of land with many features including a large fountain, spectacular flower beds and a unique Italianate terrace. Alongside many other unusual features, you can also find wildlife inhabiting the place. In many cases The Plantation Garden is also knows as The Secret Garden as people are aware that it exists however, sometimes it is not to be found.

Nightlife in Norwich is extremely vibrant with a variety of bars and nightclubs. For live music and popular nightclubs, The Waterfront is a great area in which live musical acts are performed by international and national artists. There are also club nights, held on a regular basis and can be found in central Norwich.
