The most conventional way to wish people on a most promising day or on a festive occasion is through greeting cards. Christmas is definitely one of the most joyous occasions of the year where Christmas card giving is traditional. Though Christmas cards are available on almost all local stores and malls, making your own Christmas cards never fails to draw out a sigh from the recipient. There are quite a number of ways to make Christmas cards. It could be the use of a photo, paint, or any Christmas decoration to go with it. Yet, the most popular way of making it is through the use of our very own personal computers – printed Christmas cards!

Personalized Printed Christmas Cards

Deciding on how you are going to make your Christmas card is always the basic step. However, since we are talking about printed Christmas cards, then it is safe to assume that we will be making our very own personalized printed Christmas card.

The next step is to know the recipient’s age and preference like color, graphic designs, and font for instance, to get a favorable response from the recipient. Since we are printing the card from a computer, then it is advisable to use an online site to select the designs and layout since they offer a wide range of layouts and designs for any type of card.

For people who are well-versed with desktop publishing tools like Photoshop, Art Explosion Greeting Card Factory, Hallmark Card Studio and PageMaker, it is important to choose the appropriate software that you are most accustomed to. This way, you are able to use the tools of your chosen software efficiently. Though learning something is always good, choosing a software which you are not familiar of, takes so much time and effort.

After choosing the software, it is now time to pick the layout, which is responsible for the structure of the card. Browsing the web for more unique designs is also advisable. This will keep you from being too limited on what the software can only offer and will give you fresh ideas which you can try on.

The next is choosing a fitting graphic, color, theme, and font. This should be dependent on the recipient’s nature and preference. For instance, if you are giving a Christmas card to a 10-year old niece or a nephew, a funny cartoon character would be appropriate, or if the recipient is a business partner or a co-employee, an elegant, formal and simple graphic would be proper. Putting an ill-fitting graphic on your card may possibly draw out a negative response from the recipient.

The final and most important step is putting the right words on your Christmas card. When you put the message on your card, make sure to convey the message that comes from your heart. It doesn’t have to be poetic or elaborate. A simple line like “wishing you good health on this Christmas season” is enough.

Familiarizing yourself with the use of desktop publishing softwares makes Christmas card-making easy and fun. It is always worthwhile to let our imaginations work to create a fantastic work of art. Investing your effort and time in it, not only makes it personal, but special.
