We mean for moving, silly.

In this busy society, hardly anyone has the time to spare to plan a move. And we kid you not when we say that planning a move is not an easy business. Taking inventory of all the things you’ll be moving, wrapping them, labeling them, arranging them and packing them take a lot of time. And that’s not counting coordinating the move with your removals company, and making sure that your destination is adequately prepared to receive you and your belongings.

The difficulty and process of moving also involves finding the right service (or services) that fit your needs. There are so many removal companies around the country – both for local and distance moves, and it’s kind of hard to decide which to trust. The best way is to go online and compare prices and services among companies to see which can give you the most value for your money.

Especially if you don’t want to be bothered with all the hassles of moving, the looking for a full service removal company might be the right thing for you. They offer a range of moving plans and services that are sure to take a load off (both literally and figuratively) your back.

But before you commit, be sure to make the adequate research regarding insurance and their other policies regarding things like damages and liabilities, as well as all the fees they’ll be charging. Trust us, you DO NOT want to underestimate your budget. That’s one of the worst things you can do in a move.

Canvassing for the right outfit to move your stuff for you is the same with other removal companies – go online, ad compare their services and pricing, as well as look for good (or bad) reviews to read actual customer feedback.

Once you’ve set your sights on a particular service outfit, they you can proceed to reviewing all the different plans they have for you, that include a multitude of services such as packing and wrapping your stuff for you, transport and assembly and disassembly of special pieces like pianos, as well as making real estate arrangements. Yes, a full service moving company can do that, and much more. It’s really a way for you to relax and just sit tight and oversee everything from afar.

The next part involves shutting down the computer and taking off all the cables. You’re to disconnect each cable carefully and store them in a box or any container where they won’t be crushed. You can also put tape on them for labelling so you’ll have an easier time when reassembling. The monitor is especially sensitive, and should be packed inside a box with foam. This is especially important if you are using an LCD monitor, as pressure on the screen will result in the destruction of your monitor.

With printers, remove all cartridges, wrap them in paper and store them in a separate container. Your central processing unit or CPU should be stored and transported in such a way that the side with the motherboard is the one lying flat on the bottom. Simply unscrew the side panels to see what side the motherboard is on. Then get some masking tape and label what side should be up. You may also want to remove all attached internal components (if you don’t know how, get someone to help you) so you lessen the risk of damage to both your internal components and to the motherboard itself.
