To get things started you have to be aware with the things you are supposed to do as you move out. Creating a great and complete checklist will save you from encountering moving problems and troubles. Your checklist will serve as your perfect companion to get things right as you move out and move in your new home. This way, you will avoid a very stressful moving process.

There could be hundreds and thousands of moving checklists that had been made. However, all checklists have the same thought—they all say the same reminders and things to do. And so, it’s up to you whether you create your own rules since everything happens in case to case basis.

If you think you need a guiding checklist, refer to the sample checklist which aims to direct every household in moving to their new home. As you stick on your list, make sure that you mark the completed number on the list before moving on the next. This way you can carefully monitor what is going on.

The Checklist: A Complete Guide

1. Duly accomplished a change of address form.
2. Visit your new place and inform the authorities about your transfer so they wouldn’t be surprised in the end and conduct the necessary procedures if necessary.
3. Inform your banks, your credit card providers, and other financial institutions that you are connected with before you move out in your new address.
4. Notify your water, electricity, and gas providers that you are moving out so you can stop their service right away.
5. Let your doctors and your insurance companies know about your change of address as well so they would know where to contact you in the future.
6. Tell your employers or the school that your children go to about your moving the soonest time possible. Fill out necessary forms before you go.
7. Ask your telecommunication provider to install internet connection and phone lines in your new address.
8. Tell your family, friends, and other concerned people that you are moving in a new place.
9. Deal with your moving company and settle everything you are required to settle.
10. Communicate with your lawyer so you can clear things on moving and other legal issues that may arise in the future.

You can add other minor yet important reminders on your checklist apart from the mentioned above. You should also make your list handy at all times so you can refer to it when needed. As you finish a particular number on the list, do not forget to mark it with the word “done” to avoid confusion. Apart from the checklist, you can also make your “packing list” so the unpacking process will be done easier and trouble-free.

To plan your relocation, you need first to lean about your new house. You can do that through following these tips:

Relocating will be so simple and easy if you are single. Perhaps, your reason for moving is a new job. You can simply stay in a hotel for some days and hunt for a good apartment. You can already look for a new house if you have a good apartment to stay in.

If you have a family, relocation with your kids and spouse will surely be a lot more difficult. You need to exert more energy and time in planning for house-to-house relocation. You can also rent a hotel for few days but it is more cost-efficient to rent an apartment instead.

Know the distance of your new house from near schools.

Learn more about the common whether in your new house’s place.

Determine the convenience of the grocery and shopping mall near your new house.
