Getting cheap kitchen cabinets is something many people want, as obviously these things can be quite pricey if you aren’t careful.

In case you aren’t aware of it, nothing goes further to enhance or detract from your kitchen design than your cabinets, and this is why purchasing them is something that should not be taken lightly. Therefore, it’s important to not rush this process.

It’s no secret that these pieces of furniture can cost a lot of money, sometimes even up to five figures if you aren’t careful and you have a particularly large kitchen. However, don’t cut corners by getting low quality cheap kitchen cabinets just to save money.

One thing to avoid is particleboard, and fiberboard as well. These materials are generally not very sturdy, and if you put too many things in them, or get them wet, it can have a disastrous effect.

Some people even go down to the store and get pro opinions on what can be done to their kitchen to give it the design they want. While you might not go to this extent, which cheap kitchen cabinets you get is very important.

Where can you find them? Often times, they can be found at discount shops, and here you can usually find them with wood imitations. If actually wood is utilized , it generally is not the best looking wood.

Usually, the cabinets are of fairly shoddy craftsmanship, and therefore I would not recommend you buy them at your neighborhood mom and pop store, as usually they will be inferior quality. Buying them from a known store is usually the way to go as this can save you more money but still net you high quality.

So how can you find quality cabinets without spending an arm and a leg? It’s actually not hard, when you know how.

One thing I would highly advocate is that you first determine how much money you have to spend on these things, and once you know this, then make your buying decisions accordingly. Don’t just look into the final price when considering this.

Also remember to plan ahead and figure out how much it will cost you to have somebody install them, as well as the potential of having to replace them down the road. However, assuming you get quality cabinets, this shouldn’t really factor in, because hopefully you won’t have to replace them for a long time.

However, while older designed cheap kitchen cabinets were well known for their poor craftsmanship and materials used, the newer ones (not always) are generally very sturdily built and of high quality. Often times you can find reasonably priced cabinets that are made of plywood, and real wood doors and frames.

This is especially true when getting RTA designs. When you purchase them, sure you have to build them yureslf, but the good thing is, you can get high quliaty without paying a fortune, and therefore won’t have to spend money refacing them or replacing them down the road, as you likely would with cheap cabinets.

Therefore, if you are looking to save money, you can still get high quality by getting RTA cabinets, and of course, getting used cheap kitchen cabinets as well.
