Body language is a language in itself. Here’s what happens to us when we are not using the body language that we should. It sends the wrong message. Here are some examples. You are waiting in the lobby of a hotel for someone to come out of the elevator from another floor, do you pace the floor, do you sit at the lounge area and tap your foot or fingers on the floor or table? These are all body language signs that you’re impatient. Advice for your body language is take a look in the mirror every once in a while.

Our society today sends a lot of wrong messages that cause our heads to think things we shouldn’t. We have a fast food mentality. It’s instant coffee, instant breakfast, drive through this and that, everything from the beverage store to the dry cleaners, we have the 12 items or less lane, we look for the lane with the least amount of people in it every time we have to go through the check out lanes when we have more than 12 items. Sometimes we even go through the 12 item or less line when we know we are over the limit. Here’s some more advice for your body language.

It affects our whole life style from how we treat people to how we react to them. If they aren’t moving fast enough for us, maybe we don’t say anything, but we will sigh out loud or use impatient body language to express ourselves. So it bleeds over into our social life as well. We can be on a date and if we act impatient in front of our date while we are waiting on a meal to be delivered, for example, what will they think? Paying attention to the wrongs we do is great advice for your body language perspective and how to fix it.

Other body languages that affect our dating life would be how we use our arms. If giving advice for your body language, I say when you stand talking to someone, don’t cross your arms on your belly, it sends a message that you are trying to be bossy or controlling or looking down upon their behavior. Do not put your hands on your hips, it sends a message that your upset or in a bad mood. If we put our fingers up next to our face or maybe rub our chin it could mean we are nervous. If we are pointing our finger at someone it could mean you are threatening them.

Think of what message you have been sending to those around you consistently. When we are in a bad mood, do we send body language messages? When you are angry, what body language do you send? If on a date, what facial expressions are you using? Our facial expressions are another way we communicate. I am sure that all of us have paid attention to others facial expressions. In giving more advice for your body language I would say to practice smiling even when you’re upset.
