Appropriate Times When to Give Corporate Business Gifts

Showing you appreciate your employees, business partners, clients and all the people in your entire business life is important, and so you usually purchase corporate business gifts when there are gift giving affairs. However, there are some situations when you may no be sure if giving corporate business gifts is an appropriate thing to do. In this article, you will know the appropriate times when to give corporate business gifts, as well as what appropriate business gifts to give.

Recognition Day. Big or small companies usually have an annual recognition day. It is an event where deserving employees will be awarded for their good work and accomplishment. It is also a great way to boost employees' morale and creates a healthy competition in a company. Similarly, incentives are also often given on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis. Incentive programs come in two main kinds, first is giving a single prize to an employee who meets his or her goal first or who sells the most within a certain time frame, and the second one is giving a gift to each employee who accomplished a certain level.

Holidays. Giving holiday gifts may or may not be a good idea always, depending on the company. It is only ethical to give holiday gifts to everyone if the company can afford to purchase multiple gifts. In some instances, it might be a lot easier to give a bonus on a paycheck. Just make sure to consider that the bonuses are good enough with how much you can only tender. Also, be reminded that there might be some employees who different religion. Instead of greeting ''Merry Christmas'' just say ''Happy Holidays.''

Birthdays. It is very common to celebrate an employee’s birthday in the office. If you plan to give a birthday gift, go with the flow and don't spend too much. Giving an extravagant gift can be misunderstood not only by your recipient but also the rest of your employees. Purchase a gifts out of your own pocket, rather than spending the company budget for such things.

Retirement. If your company has only a few number of employees, letting go a retiree feels like losing a member of the family. In this case, giving corporate business gifts as retirement gifts might be a good idea. When choosing a retirement gift, consider something useful. A retire may tend to travel for vacation so you want to give an ideal gift such as a travel bag or a travel guide book,

Popular corporate business gifts that are usually given these days are customized business card holders and cases, desk clocks, picture albums and frames, mugs, desk organizers, desk accessories, money clips, cufflinks, pocket watches etc. No matter what the occasion is, make sure you are giving the gift appropriately. In some cases, company by-law strictly prohibit giving corporate business gifts, but it really depends on you business. Remember, you can always buy your own corporate business gifts if you really want to show your own personal appreciation towards other people.
