The book has the father describing the experience of his family of six from the time they got shipwrecked to surviving life in an isolated island somewhere near New Guinea. The family consists of an intellectual father, his wife who has outstanding cooking skills and four active sons. While struggling for survival on the island for more than 10 years until they were rescued, the family members demonstrated inventiveness and toughness and built their own house.

Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” was first printed in 1843 and became an instant hit selling out six thousand copies in a week.
