Christmas holiday allow us to spend time with our children and make up for the times when they needed our presence yet we weren’t there when they needed us most. Aside from the usual tradition of celebrating Christmas with our families, there will be times when kids would want to hear a new
Christmas story from us. This article is then a simple Christmas story of a girl named Sarah who spent a wonderful Christmas at her Grandma’s home. You can add this up in your Christmas collection of “stories-to-be-told” to your children just before bedtime. Read on.

When Sarah's parents left their daughter at Grandma's house, it is become a very busy time for these two souls who are separated by generations but bounded by love. It is apparent that the grandmother and grandchild are very close as they cheerfully work together on Grandma's "to-do" list to get ready for the yearly holiday. There are Christmas cards to put in order, and a tree to trim. The real tree was given to them by a neighbor who dwells on a large farm. It goes into a stand that holds the water to prevent it from wilting; it is Sarah's job to ensure that the tree is watered every day. They put some ornaments on the tree, going into specifics about how to make a long chain from loops made out of construction paper.

As soon as the tree is finished, Grandma made them some delectable hot chocolate with her extra ingredients of crushed peppermint candy and small marshmallows on top. Then it's time for bed so they can attend church the following morning. The rest of the week kept them frequently busy as they made an assortment of cookies and took some of them to a local nursing home, where a cluster of people from Grandma's church sing Christmas carols to the aged. The real purpose of Christmas was never forgotten as Sarah assisted her grandmother arranging a nativity scene on the coffee table, afterwards, Grandma tells her the story of Jesus Christ’ birth.

The week passed swiftly as the two put up a snowman, wrap Christmas gifts, watch Christmas shows on TV, and read Christmas stories out loud together. Come Christmas Eve, they hung up a stocking for Santa to fill in with goodies for Sarah. Of course, they will never forget Santa, leaving the cheerful old man some milk and cookies. Just before going to bed, Sarah's grandmother gave her a Christmas ornament and a unique stuffed rabbit named Levi that was given to her when she was a young girl. Grandma had kept Levi in wonderful condition. Now Sarah will have to do the same.

One Christmas morning, Sarah discovered that Santa Clause has paid a visit and had given her lots of presents. Later that day, when Sarah's parents arrived, there were more gifts to trade. Then, after eating a delicious ham during supper with all the trimmings, it is then time for Sarah to go home. She gave Grandma a big hug and kiss, and of course, thanked her for the nice memories of such a special week.
