There has been a controversy going on for a long time suggesting that poltergeists may or may not exist.

So, exactly what is a poltergeist? Well, for those of you who are not aware (and many are not), a poltergeist is a ghost or spirit supposed to manifest it's presence by noises, knockings, environmental disturbances, etc. There have been several people who have reported that they have been in the presence of a poltergeist at one time or another. Certain people suggest that a poltergeist is merely a psychic energy that humans put off when in times of severe distress. This means that you are experiencing such a strong force of energy within yourself, that it does not manifest itself properly. This has been said to happen frequently amongst young teenagers as well. For example, say you are really upset about something and your light bulb suddenly bursts, or you are crying uncontrollably and your sink starts pouring water out of nowhere. These can simply be energies that are out of control and not handled properly.

Do you think you have witnessed any poltergeist activity in your lifetime? Chances are that you probably have and have not been fully aware of it. Have you ever gone into a building and it just made you feel extremely weird and uneasy? Poltergeists will often "hang out" in areas where there has been a lot of negative things take place, such as murders and other horrible things. Poltergeists have been also known to manifest quite violent activity to their surroundings. They tend to do odd things such as levitate people and more obvious things such as move objects, drop things, open windows, slam doors and open them again, and throw things. All of these actions tend to happen practically out of nowhere. There are those that suggest that poltergeists really do exist; it is quite a possibility that they do.

There have been many instances when people have experienced poltergeist activity that has been reported. In 1977-1978, a Dr. Bukreev reported that a London family experienced stones and bricks come down in shower form inside of their home, as well as an unseen hand throwing objects into a window. There were claw marks on the family's bodies and they even reported that they experienced blood, water, and other liquids being poured from the walls and ceilings. The family also stated that their two young children were lifted up into the air with nothing carrying them. Sound kind of freaky? It is true...this actually happened.

To conclude, whether you believe poltergeists exist or not, there have been some pretty wild behaviour linked to these unseen and disturbing creatures. What they want from us, only they know. However unreal, these poltergeist experiences may seem, they are happening all of the time. Some of us just take the time to notice, while others choose to ignore it and sum an out-of-the-blue slamming door up as a coincidence. But beware; these "coincidences" could be the fine line between what is normal and what is real and freaky poltergeist behaviour.
