Mumbai, formerly Bombay, is the capital city of Maharashtra, India. It is noted as the financial capital of the country. It features a successful port and numerous elegant hotels.

Mumbai was previously known as Bombay. It is the Indian state of Maharashtra and its capital city. It is also considered as Indias financial capital. It is situated along Indias west coast, showcasing a natural deep harbor. In fact, its port handles more than half of the maritime cargo of the country.

Having a population of about 13 million, it is deemed as the worlds most populous city proper. With Thane and Navi Mumbai, forming approximately almost 19 million, it ranks as the 5th most populous metropolitan region in the world.

As the entertainment and commercial center of India, it generates about 5% of the GDP of India and accounts for approximately 25% of its industrial output, 70% of its capital transactions and 40% of its maritime trade. It is considered as one of the top 10 centers of commerce in the world because of its global financial flow.

Mumbai is the home of vital industrial institutions like the Bombay Stock Exchange, Reserve Bank of India, National Stock Exchange of India and many corporate headquarters as well as Indian companies and multinational corporations. It also has Bollywood, the countrys Hindi television and film, industry.

It is not unusual that with business prospering in this city, many hotels have also sprouted to meet the rising traffic of visitors here every year. Here are some of the recommended hotels when planning to visit this city.

This hotel is located at 45 New Marine Line Mumbai 400-020, India. It is close to entertainment and shopping districts in the region. West End Hotel lies in the center of Mumbai since the year 1948. It is Indias leading economy hotel very convenient for both leisure and business travelers.

This hotel features sumptuous foods, friendly staff, 24hr room service, a book stall, money changers and doctors on call. Each room is equipped with air conditioners, attached baths; cable TVs, direct dialing and guests can even rent mobile phones during their stay. Its double rooms can accommodate couples or two guests while its family rooms can accommodate up to 3 persons.

For dining, it has a Gourmet Restaurant which offers delectable Tandoori, Moghlai and Continental cuisines. It even has a separate area for its vegetarian kitchen. They also organize buffet dinners for groups of 10 up to 30 persons upon request.

Heritage Inn

This hotel is situated along a quiet corner in the central part of Mumbai called Byculla. It is only a short distance from the 3 key railway terminals such as Dadar, Mumbai Central and CST. It is also near the International and domestic airport as well as Colaba, Point Worli, Nariman Point, Lower Parel and the Bombay Stock Exchange. Facilities and amenities of the hotel include travel counters, safe deposit lockers, money changers, doctors on call, parking areas, a business center and a coffee shop. This is along with its meeting facilities, bar and restaurant as well as a mini bar, CCTV cameras and laundry services.

It has a total of 96 furnished rooms with 12 executive rooms and 18 deluxe rooms. Rooms are guaranteed with Internet access, cold and hot showers along with cool soft linens, and in-room dining areas.

Taj President Hotel

This hotel is located at 90 Cuffe Parade Mumbai 400-005, India. It offers a lot of wonderful amenities as well as nearby recreation areas like badminton, Ayurvedic massage, elephant caves, golf as well as trekking, lawn tennis and volleyball among others.

Taj President Hotel has total of 292 elegant rooms having 20 executive suites. It has 5 banquet rooms that provide state-of-the-art lighting effects like mood lighting, down lighting, gobo lighting and 8 moveable lights that provide gobo and color patterns on perimeter walls and on the floors. The hotel’s auditorium can accommodate up to 600 persons.
Other facilities and amenities of the hotel include babysitting services, a 24hr business center, beauty parlor, color copier, doctors on call, laptops for rent and mobile phones for rent.
