Dating is many things to many people. To some it’s about the game of winning the prize. To others it’s the process of finding that perfect soul mate. One thing is for certain, when you date, date for the purpose of finding the person who shares in your endeavor. If you’re dating for the prize at the end of the first or third date, then don’t be surprised if you never reach a point of satisfaction. If you date the wrong person for the wrong reasons, it’s going to end in disillusionment and frustration.

Nobody likes to go on a date and afterwards find them saying to themselves, “that was a waste of time and money!” We all would rather come home from a date with magical thoughts of what the next date will be like. So with that in mind, lets proceed in the direction of setting yourself up for a good first date.

You know we are all talented enough to be able to discern other people’s motives and styles in communication. We can usually discern from the way a person dresses or their actions over a period of time as to whether we would want to date them, let alone be by their side for an indefinite period of time. I think in general, most of us will spend time talking to a person who could end up being a possible future date.

If you get to that point and are looking through lustful eyes, rather than a sincere heart, prepare yourself for drama! If you are looking for sincerity and are dealing with lust, prepare yourself for frustration. There is nothing like going out with someone because you are seriously interested in them and find out by the end of the date that this person’s only endeavor is to get you between the sheets. How demoralizing and sad. This only creates for the sincere person an attitude of mistrust and doubt in the opposite sex.

Dating is a fine art in communication and interaction between two people. What to say, when to say it. How do you react to things that don’t interest you or are down right offensive and still keep a cool head to finish the date? How do you decide if a cup of coffee is a good first date or dinner and a movie? As a guy do you want to spend a considerable amount of money for a dead end date? In these days of toxic mixtures of ecstasy in the drinks and bad memories, dating is not what dating should be or used to be.

With the proper amount of screening before that first date ever takes place, two people can have good, sincere interaction in a safe environment and know that what they’re undertaking is purposeful and meaningful. If you’re the kind of person who will go out to a party where there is drug usage, drinking going on and maybe it’s a date to a private party, you’re probably going to end up sorry when you wake up the next day to the memories of the night before!
