Sometimes known as “hidden disability” ADD/ADHD has never been much familiar in the masses. Actually this disability of ours is rooted upon both biological and behavioral factors. We don’t even know the exact reasons of it and can’t comprehend our unusual activities. Being named lazy, daydreamers, impulsive or something else which we can’t express here we have remained hallucinated for years. Whatever is the case, ultimately we have suffered in self-esteem. What are the means to overcome them and keep us in best of the moods? Let’s introspect.

1. Search positivism in yourself when you suffer from ADD/ADHD which is simply a part of life. Always believe in optimistic attitude to weaken pessimism. Although you may not realize it but your personality have lots of strengths which keep you going.

2. Make your life disciplined and punctual which helps you schedule your work and keep troubles away. This attitude turns you organized and you are able to finish your work in appropriate time. It boosts up your morale by developing strength in you.

3. Learn to breathe. Often we ADDers are impulsive, and that means we may say things we later regret. And nothing makes you feel as bad as when you know you have offended someone. Before you react to something, take a few breaths and gather your thoughts. Sometimes it’s best to tell someone that you’ll have to get back to them with a response. Thinking before you respond will save you many “I’m sorry’s” in the future.

4. Don’t give up. If your symptoms still don’t seem manageable, keep looking for the treatment that is right for you! What works for your ADHD son or your ADD friend may not work for you and that is all right. One of the hardest things about ADD/ADHD is that it can look different in every person who has it. Keep asking questions, doing your research, and finding the right professionals to help you.

5. Don’t forget your sense of humor. We have ADD - big deal! Other people have problems that we don’t have. It’s all relative. The one thing you absolutely must be able to do is to laugh at yourself. You are not perfect. You are also not at the bottom of the heap either. Find ways to manage your ADD, but also find a way to not take yourself so seriously.

Counseling is mandatory in case you feel your self-esteem has become low and unmanageable over the years. It most often becomes critical to observe the things in a varied perspective. But you need to follow this only for attaining best results. This attitude through sharing your thoughts keeps you at the better position and in cheer as well rather than completely dominated by your low self-esteem. Be optimistic to lessen your worries. It most often becomes critical to observe the things in a varied perspective. But you need to follow this only for attaining best results.
